A Liturgy of Gratitude

God,
Today we simple come with gratitude.

We are thankful for freedom.
Freedom from the guilt of legalism
Freedom from the shame of purity culture
Freedom from the condemnation of false doctrine.
May we continue to discover new freedoms in our journey of Deconstruction.

We are thankful for community.
Community that has welcomed us as we are, where we are.
Community that has brought new friendships and close relationships.
Community that has challenged us to dig deeper and to expand our views.
May we be a source of providing community to all who are Deconstructing.

We are thankful for Voices.
Voices of individuals who are telling their stories.
Voices of women who are pastoring and creating dialogue.
Voices of the BIPOC and AAPI communities who are exposing systemic and internalized racism.
Voices of the lgbtqia+ community who are teaching us that your love is for all; that all are invited to the table.
May we listen to these Voices, learn from their words, and lift them up so others can hear.

In all this and more, we are grateful.
Amen.
