To men who are on this journey of deconstruction;
Especially to we who are white, cisgender het men;
May this Liturgy serve as a call to speak
To speak up
To speak out
To speak truth
To speak love.
let us speak up,
When we see other men behaving or bantering in the language of misogyny.
Let us call out by name and by action those who continue to treat women as unequal, as weaker, as submissive.
Let us speak out,
When we hear and see acts of racism, bigotry, and bias.
Let us stand beside our bipoc and aapi family and use our own privilege to demand and enact changes to a system built on racism.
Let us speak truth,
When we hear the homophobic vitriol of the church that claims Jesus as their Lord.
Let us speak the truth of love, and rebuke those who refuse to recognize that every lgbtqia+ individual is loved and welcomed.
Let us speak love.
When we fall back into our male whiteness,
And we get uncomfortable or feel uneasy to speak against these harms,
Let us been moved by love to speak, to act, to repent, and to not stand silent.
Let us speak and act in ways that make us and others uncomfortable but that move us forward into a better, more open and welcoming community.
