God,
Who is always near
Even when they feel far away.

Be part of our deconstruction journey.

We have walked away from the structure
And harmful systems that the evangelical church has relied on for so long.
We are distancing ourselves from the veiled hatred for those they’ve deemed unworthy.
We are distancing ourselves from the judgment they impose on anyone who questions their doctrines
Their interpretations.
Their authority.

In our distancing, we are finding freedom from trauma, from pain, from close-mindedness.
And we are thankful.

But we also distance ourselves from relationships,
Friendships,
Family connections,
And that can come with deep loss.

Help us process that loss and to find comfort
In you and in new connections.
In a community on a similar journey.

God, as deconstruction leads to distancing,
Be near us.
