God that is
Worthy of our worship
And that offers us a new beginning,

We come in a season of change.
Departure from old ideas,
False doctrines taught to us and by us,
Into a season of newness and freedom.

We invite you to take off these layers we wear
Of fear and failure,
Of anxiety and shame,
Garments we wear to hide scars and wounds
From legalism and fundamentalism.

We ask that you clothe us with new linens,
That you dress us in freedom and acceptance,
Not out of our worthiness,
But out of your abundant love.
Let that love motivate us to share it with others.
Help us to be instruments of peace
And people driven to create change.

God, show us what to change.
Jesus, show us how to change.
Spirit, show us where to change.
