God,
That knows us,
Jesus,
That heals us,
Spirit,
That embodies us,

This journey can be filled
With heartbreak,
With sadness,
With loss.

Loss of relationships
Loss of assurances
Loss of faith itself.

Some days, the journey can be
In its own way traumatic,
Especially when those around us
Call into question our decisions,
Our motives,
Our salvation,

At times, we can be discouraged,
Wondering if our wandering
Is even worth it?

But we are drawn to something more,
Something better than man-made systems,
Better for all:
The outcast.
The overlooked.
The hurting.

So God,
Help us find comfort in this community.
Love and acceptance,
Challenge and discourse.
A greater understanding of you.

God, hear our cries for a new thing.
Jesus, embrace us and walk with us.
Spirit, calm our weary souls.
