God
Without beginning or end,
Who persists in every generation,

Today, we ask that you carry us through
To the next portion of this story;
Of this journey we are on.

There are indeed portions of this period
That are coming to an end;
An end to believing in the systems that
Have defined the church for too long.
An end to our desire to call ourselves
By any name that brings fear or pain.

Yet in the closing down of our faith in traditions,
We also recognize and lean into the continuation
Of your story despite the actions of your church.
Help us to see that your work continues,
That your story for us isn’t yet completed.
That, in fact, this isn’t a time of falling away and calling it quits,
But a time of falling deeper in love with you and all humankind.

So, God, let this be a moment of continuation.
Jesus, let this be a period of Sabbath before the next season.
Spirit, continue to work in us, through us, and around us.
