In relative isolation, God, we gather
to reflect on our current situation,
on what we have seen,
and on what we have discovered.
Remind us, O Lord, of the moments,
the memories, and the emotions that
you want us to focus on today.
Open our hearts and our minds so
that we may see where you are taking us
While we remain separated from the community around us.
Make us alert to our anxieties.
Make us aware of our heartbeat and our breath.
Make us conscious of our unease.
Make us in tune with Spirit’s voice.
For You, O Lord, are not surprised by this.
You are fully aware of our lives.
Of every life.
You knit us, and you know how unwound we feel.
You have taught us when to “go,”
Now, teach us how to wait.
Let our souls find rest and restoration.
Let us not miss this opportunity to be still and know.
At times today, we may be sad.
We may be anxious.
We may be unsettled.
Allow us to find the open space to sit in these shadows,
as we allow you to shine a light into the darkness,
exposing what needs to be brought into the light.
At times today, we may be joyful.
We may be eager.
We may be at peace.
Allow us to find refuge and comfort;
laughter in the uniqueness of this journey;
hope when we look ahead to our ‘new normal.’
Let us care for each other by actively seeking ways to appropriately connect.
Let us listen for your voice in each other’s words.
Let us serve as you have taught us,
with the giving of self;
with the sharing of communion;
with the speaking of words of Life.
O God, protect the Sacred.
O Christ, prepare the Communion.
O Spirit, prompt the Conversation.
Be at work within us,
around us, and
before us.
May your will be accomplished
as we covenant with you and each other.
Amen.
