A Liturgy for Embracing Mystery

Triune God,

In a society that embraces knowledge,
That finds comfort in the black and white
Of assuredness;
That likes to fit things into boxes.

We tend to limit you,
To subscribe to certain truths
And question what we cannot grasp.

But you are full of mystery.
A multi-faceted
Creator,
Savior,
Interceder.
Supernatural and Untamable.

Help us to find faith and comfort
In knowing that we are not knowing.
In welcoming the mysteries of your
Whys and Hows and Wheres.

O, that the mysteries would build
Our trust in You more completely.

That it would open our hearts
To recognize you work in ways and
In lives that we have not recognized,
And see that mystery drawing all lives to love.

For we see through a mirror darkly.
And we know there is more than we can see.

And it is all beautiful.

Amen.
